Internet Speed Test – Are you getting the Internet speed you are paying for?
We have a client that recently purchased a 200 Mbps Internet connection from an Internet provider and were wondering why they had not seen a speed improvement. We looked into the situation and discovered the issue. We discovered they had an old switch that was limiting their connection speed to 100Mbps.
If you have a 200 Meg internet connection and a 100/mbps network switch you cannot get more that the 100/Mbps because your switch can not handle the speed. To check your internet speed go to https://www.speedtest.net/
To Resolve this issue, you will need to replace your older slow switches with a Gigabit Ethernet Switch. Also we recommended a minim of i5 processors and SSD drives on all of the workstations.
