MFA requires a second verification step in addition to your password. This could be:

• A code sent to your phone
• A push notification from an authentication app
• A hardware security key

Enable MFA on all accounts that support it, especially:

• Email and messaging platforms
   
• Online banking and financial accounts
   
• Cloud storage and collaboration apps
   
• Remote work systems and VPNs
   

3.  Tips for easy MFA use

• Use an authentication app (like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) instead of SMS when possible
   
• Keep backup codes in a safe place
   
• Turn on MFA immediately when offered by a service

Even if a hacker obtains your password, they won’t be able to log in without the second factor.
