Wireless Network Case Study

High-Density Wi-Fi for a York, PA Hotel & Conference Center

How World Network Systems designed and deployed a 64-radio Cambium wireless network to cover guest rooms, common areas, and event space — built to hold up when every room and the ballroom are full at once.

The Client

A hotel and conference center in York, Pennsylvania

The property combines guest rooms with a conference center used for weddings, corporate events, and meetings — which means the wireless network has to support two very different loads: everyday guest traffic on room floors, and sudden, dense demand whenever the event space fills up.

The Challenge

Wi-Fi that worked in guest rooms and fell over in the ballroom

The existing wireless setup was sized for light, room-by-room guest use. It couldn't handle a conference room or ballroom full of attendees all connecting at once — exactly the moments the property most needed reliable Wi-Fi, for both guests and the event organizers running on it.

WNS needed to design a network dense enough for peak event load, without creating a single flat network where guest, staff, and event traffic could see each other.

The Build

A high-density design, radio by radio

64 Cambium Access Points

Enterprise Cambium radios placed and channel-planned for high-density coverage across guest floors, common areas, and the conference and event space.

High-Density Engineering

Access point placement and power planned for peak occupancy in the ballroom and meeting rooms, not just steady-state guest-room usage.

Segmented Networks

Guest, staff, and event Wi-Fi kept on separate, secured networks, so a full ballroom never competes with — or exposes — day-to-day hotel operations.

Managed & Monitored

One controller, the whole property

All 64 radios are managed from a single wireless controller, giving hotel staff and WNS a live view of coverage and performance across the entire property — so a weak spot on a guest floor or a strained access point during a large event gets caught and addressed, not discovered from a guest complaint.

The Result

Wi-Fi that holds up whether it's a quiet Tuesday or a full ballroom

Full Property Coverage

Consistent, strong signal from guest rooms and hallways through to the conference and event space — no more dead zones.

Built for Peak Load

The high-density design keeps performance stable even when the ballroom is at capacity, which is exactly when reliable Wi-Fi matters most.

Guest, Staff & Event Networks Kept Apart

Segmented Wi-Fi means a busy event never slows down staff systems or exposes hotel operations to guest or event traffic.
